Varun Plans FOUR Stores in a Single Fortnight

Varun Industries Limited, one of India’s largest exporters of stainless steel products has launched its retail venture under the brand name –“ Varun Premium Kitchenware and More”. The company inaugurated its first store in Chennai (Tamil Nadu)  and the next in Vashi (Maharashtra).  Varun’s third and fourth stores were inaugurated on August  27, 2008 In Chandigarh(UT)  and September 1, 2008 in Mulund (Mumbai). 

The Chandigarh store is located in Chandigarh Sector 17-C (SCO 198), next to the popular eatery Hot Millions 2.  The store was inaugurated by Director General of Police, Punjab, Mr. N. P. S. Aulakh and Mr. J.P. Birdi Additional Director General of Police.

The store in Mumbai is located in Mulund’s popular  RMall and was inaugurated by "His Holiness Sadguru Shri Sai Narayan Baba."

Varun opened its store No. 112 at Sahara Mall, Gurgaon on September 6, 2008 . The store was inaugurated by Shri E.Ahamed Minister for External Affairs. Next on the list is Varun’s store in Jaipur’s Crystal Mall scheduled to be opened on 11-9-2008.
The company plans to open four more stores by end October and 36 stores in three years.

Varun Premium Kitchenware and More  will  offer  an exclusive  collection of exquisitely crafted  high quality steel items that  include cutlery, cookware, home decorative pieces, corporate gifts  and even jewelry .  The products cater to the tastes of  a very discerning audience and are a blend of aesthetics and functionalism aiming to take stainless steel usage beyond the kitchen, to a totally new level synonymous with style and status.

Varun plans to open a couple of more stores in quick succession in the next fortnight in Gurgaon and Jaipur to be followed by four in October.

The total plan is 36 stores by 2010.

Varun Industries Limited, India’s largest exporter of stainless steel cookware, kitchenware, houseware and other utility items has launched  its retail venture under the brand name –“ Varun Premium Kitchenware and More”.

After a successful debut in Chennai, Varun’s second store was inaugurated on July 13, 2008  by dignitaries- Shri Ganesh Naik, Minister of State Excise and Smt (Doctor)  Subha Raul (Mayor of Mumbai ).Located in Sector 17,  a prominent residential and commercial area of Vashi the store offers  an exclusive  collection of exquisitely crafted pieces catering to the tastes of  a very discerning audience . The products are a blend of  aesthetics and functionalism  aiming  to take stainless steel usage beyond the kitchen, to a totally new level synonymous with style and status.

The company plans to open nine more stores in the same format by end  September and a total of thirty-six stores by end 2009.  The locations of the  nine stores scheduled to be inaugurated in the next couple of months are -  Ahmedabad, Mumbai (Bandra, Bhulabhai Desai Road and Mulund) , Chandigarh, Delhi, Gurgaon, Jaipur and Pune.  

These stores are much smaller than Varun’s store in Chennai inaugurated last month. Located in Chennai’s prominent market area Pondy Bazar at T. Nagar the Chennai  showroom has a display area of  over 2000 square feet and  offers a comprehensive range of over 600 varieties catering to different budgets and tastes. The  showroom is located on the ground floor and the  top floor will house Varun’s office and other facilities.  Varun anticipates a  major increase in its activities in the South and hence the need for a large  South India branch. Varun’s  The company plans to open several large showrooms in this format within the next three years.  These showrooms will be located in areas where steel consumption is high.

Varun inaugurates first retail store in Chennai

Varun Industries Limited, India’s largest exporter of stainless steel cookware, kitchenware, houseware and other utility items announces the launch of its retail venture under the brand name–“Varun Premium Kitchenware and More. “ 

Varun is a global brand and has for the last two decades won accolades for setting new benchmarks in quality and service.  It has for a couple of years been keen to enter the domestic market  and its recent IPO was primarily  meant to fund this venture. With the opening of its first store, Varun  will be honouring the  commitment made at the time of the IPO .

Varun’s first store  is located in Chennai’s prominent market area Pondy Bazar at T. Nagar.  The  showroom is located on the ground floor and the  top floor will house Varun’s office and other facilities.  Varun anticipates a  major increase in its activities in the South and hence the need for a large  South India branch. 

Varun’s  Chennai  showroom has a display area of  over 2000 square feet and offers a very comprehensive range of 200 + premium items that include high quality nonstick cookware. This store will cater to different budgets and lifestyles and is the largest in the chain of stores planned to be a launched across the country within the next couple of months. 

In its smaller stores to be  opened in other states, Varun plans to offer a limited collection of exquisitely crafted pieces catering to the tastes of  a very discerning audience . The range in these stores will be a blend of  aesthetics and functionalism  aiming  to take stainless steel usage beyond the kitchen, to a totally new level synonymous with style and status.

Varun’s core competence is stainless steel .  It  has a sophisticated manufacturing unit in Vasai, Maharashtra and a steel re-rolling plant in Jodhpur, Rajasthan.  The  Company has diversified into high growth areas like oil and natural gas, wind energy , mining etc. These initiatives though recent, have the potential to be converted to a sustainable business model for high growth.
